More than 800 people have been killed and at least 2,800 injured after a powerful earthquake rocked eastern Afghanistan, plunging an already crisis-ridden nation into deeper despair. The 6.0 magnitude quake struck Kunar province, near the Pakistan border, around midnight on Sunday, its shallow depth amplifying its destructive power.  |
